Top Tips From Real Brides

Why Make it Hard Work?

Find something you love because once you’ve found something that feels more like fun than exercise, you won’t struggle for finding get fit motivation. If your gym offers free classes, why not give them all a go? Brides always tell us how they were talked into trying something that sounded daunting but were immediately converted!

We’re Better Together

Get a workout buddy since it’s absolutely easier to stay smiling right to the end of your workout if you have someone to share it with. You can meet your new best workout friend at classes, which in our experience are choc full of outgoing and like minded people, or you could even recruit your lovely husband to be to get fit with you!

Girl Power!

#strongnotskinny – a hashtag you will have almost certainly seen on Instagram. The people who use it are normally quite smug but maybe do have a point. Strength training doesn’t mean butch, bulky arms, as proved by several of our gorgeous brides! It means lean, toned muscles and can even burn fat. You will of course build up your muscles with strength training and more muscle burns more calories. So we think that’s a win win situation! We totally get it if you’re scared of the free weight section in the gym because it can seem very intimidating! Perhaps try starting off your strength training with yoga or pilates.

It’s a Date

Brides often tell us that just turning up is the hardest part (they must have never tried spinning). Find a gym on your commute, arrange to meet your workout buddy (see golden rule 2) or pre book classes for the week ahead are all tricks brides have told us help them stay consistently exercising.

Treat Yourself!

By the end of January you’ll probably have earnt yourself an indulgent massage or two. And you deserve some really pretty gym gear too. It’s an old cliché that the best way to improve is to love yourself enough to make it happen, but we think there’s a lot of truth in that. So make sure you work hard, show yourself some appreciation and celebrate the healthier, happier you! And spoiling you is something we can absolutely help with.
