Now Anneka and Joel knew exactly what kind of wedding they wanted; lots of fun, dancing and of course LOTS of sparkle. So of course New Years Eve was the only date that would do!

Anneka married her perfect man Joel, at St Thomas’s Church in the Lake District. This is the place Anneka grew up, so it was extra special to the couple…and ever so beautiful!

With a NYE wedding, and a bride who loves sparkle there was only one gown that was going to fit the bill, an embellished, fit and flare number from Maggie Sottero. The gown suited the couples wedding perfectly, with its amazing detailing that sparkles brilliantly in the light. The gown has the most amazing lace detailed train and silhouette that was the perfect fit for Anneka. Teamed with a soft veil, and some luscious fur, this really was a WOW gown!

The couple lived up to their NYE party vibe, with glitter covered table numbers, embellished bridesmaids dresses and hundreds of candle and sparkly lights which made the whole reception glisten – it looks absolutely magical!

From the bride:

“ I definitely have two favourite moments;

One – Walking down theaisleand seeing Joel and seeing everyone else who I loved and who had travelled to be with us. It was such a beautiful moment.  I was so nervous before hand but as soon as i saw Joel and all the happy faces of my friends and family I felt completely at ease and just enjoyed the moment.

Two – New Years Eve – the best decision of our married life so far has to be deciding to stay until NYE. We had imagined this moment for months – seeing in NYE at our wedding with our friends and family but at about 9.30pm both Joel and I were shattered and honestly thought we were going to have to leave early. After a large cup of tea we both gained a second wave and were on the dance floor dancing away to our live funk band.  At NYE Joel and I led a countdown with our guests and the band broke into Uptown Funk – it was amazing. Half way through the band played Auld Lang Syne- our guests formed two large circles crossing hands and singing- Joel and I were in the middle. He picked me up and spun me around. I was just spinning looking at all the people we love most in the world. It was one of the best moments of my life.”

And some advice for other brides: “So many people told me how tired I would be the day of the wedding-  that I wouldn’t want to stay until the end. This advice really confused me. I was so adamant I would not be and that of course I would stay the whole of my wedding. I can tell you now- i was SO wrong! The main advice i would give to any bride is to get as much rest as possible leading up to the big day. Be strict with your sleep and put boundaries in place so you get it. That way you will enjoy the day so much more and will hopefully have the stamina to last the whole wedding. My other main advice would be that the day goes so quickly- a blink of an eye. It would be worth thinking before hand the bits you really want to savour so you can consciously make an effort to when the time comes.  I gave my phone to my bridesmaid who took snaps all day so the next day I could look back through the memories of the day.”

What a beautiful and fun wedding! Congratulations Anneka and Joel, love Ellie and the Girls x
