How about a wedding on a working farm in the beautiful Scottish countryside, complete with bagpiper? Oh yes, we were excited to see these gorgeous pictures too…and they definitely didn’t disappoint.
Hannah married her very dapper husband Xabier last summer, wearing a gorgeous fitted Sassi Holford number. The ceremony and reception took place at Craigadam House, a gorgeous and unique venue in South West Scotland near where Hannah grew up. Craigadam house is a working farm and hotel, all their supplies are locally produced, even some on their own farm – supporting small local business is definitely the way forward with weddings, especially in the Oxford and Beaconsfield areas *wink wink*!
The couple had a humanist ceremony in a marquee in the venue’s orchard, followed by a drinks reception in the stunning grounds. Their wedding dinner was held in the marquee in the courtyard of the house, complete with its own running fountain, followed by a ceilidh in the dining room of the house – we do love a ceilidh!
Hannah wore the ever so dreamy Sian by Sassi Holford. This romantic gown was the perfect cut for Hannah, the lovely peplum and lace bodice softening the look. The couple decided on bright colours based on the beautiful city of Cadiz of Spain, where they got engaged, blue for the sky and sea, and yellow to match the dome of the cathedral, very romantic. Other elements included Spanish touches as a nod to Xabier’s family, who are from the Basque country in Spain, Hannah even did half of her speech in Spanish!
In the bride’s own, very poignant, words “The whole day was so special. Xab’s father passed away from a short battle with cancer less than a week before the wedding day, so it was a very emotional but also a very happy day. It was a celebration of life, family, friends and love.”
Love Ellie and the girls x
