We totally loved this wedding – so much so that we just need to share it all over again.
The lovely Jane married her now hubby Andy at Rhodes House in the Milner Hall before a reception at the Cherwell Boathouse in Oxford, wearing the beautifully art deco Bardot by Jenny Packham.
This amazing day was filled with some fab homemade touches including marmalade with vintage fabric covers and lavender bags for the female guests, grown in Andy’s mother’s garden – now that is seriously homemade!
Invitations had art deco touches, whilst the colour scheme reflected the couple’s love of the Mediterranean, Greece in particular, which is where they were engaged. Table names were painted by an Artist and good friend of Jane and Andy, William Cotterill.
Jane found her beautiful Jenny Packham gown from our Oxford boutique. Bardot just screams glamour and elegance with soft flowing fabrics, deep V back and incredible 1920’s vintage beading details. Effortless and beautiful Bardot was definitely the perfect gown for Jane!
Jane’s favourite moment of the day; ‘After the stress of the journey to the ceremony venue (Dad was 45 minutes late to pick me up in his specially restored MGTD), the minute I saw Andy, I relaxed and remembered exactly what the day was all about; the public declaration of our love and commitment to one another. Nothing else really mattered after that.’
And some advice for other brides; ‘Pinterest is a great source for inspiration, but don’t forget the majority of posts have had a professional stylist involved. If you are planning on attaining the same level of perfection yourself (like I did) valium may help!’ – we most definitely agree with this, though maybe avoid the valium!!
