Today’s gorgeous bride is the lovely Rachel, who found her stunning Benjamin Roberts gown Sophie at our National Wedding Show stand last year. A fun and exciting way to buy your gown, we love working at the National Wedding Show, it’s busy, bustling, buzzing and we get to meet so many of our amazing brides. We’re currently counting down to this year’s show from 25th-27th September…that’s so soon – eeek!!
Back to the gorgeous Rachel, who married her handsome groom David (just check out those brooding B&W shots!), at Orchardleigh House, Frome. A stunning Victorian stately home in the beautiful Somerset countryside.
Sophie by Benjamin Roberts is a lovely fitted strapless gown, with some amazing crystal work and pleating around the bust and waist, creating such a beautiful cut and silhouette. Rachel has the perfect figure to wear such a gown, and we think she looked simply stunning!
Rachel and David decided to go with a travel theme for their big day, and boy does it sound amazing! Tables were named after countries the couple have visited, then labelled with postcards and decorated appropriately with Chinese waving cats, Japanese Geisha doll almost best of all a Peruvian Llama!! The couple’s attention to detail sounds amazing, they even had a world map table plan with luggage tags and favours were little brown postage parcels decorated with stamps from around the world – AMAZING!
Rachel and David also put a twist on the traditional confetti throwing line up by getting their guests to blow bubbles, a ‘bubble line up’ as Rachel puts it, Rachel also confessed this was one of her favourite moments as it wasn’t planned, so was a lovely surprise.
Rachel’s advice for other brides is “Enjoy every second as the day flies by. Don’t over plan the small details- no-one really notices!! Something will go wrong but no one will know, and everyone you love is there to laugh it off with you. Also don’t have 7 page boys and flower girls under the age of 8 (big mistake!!!!)”.
It was so lovely to have you as our bride Rachel, and congratulations to both of you. We hope we will be able to make some other brides just as happy at this year’s National Wedding Show – see you there!
