Well this is very exciting! Our gorgeous Claire married her gorgeous groom Piran at the end of August. It seems like only yesterday we launched the very very cool Charlie Brear dresses. And would you believe that we’re already writing our first blog about a Charlie Brear bride?

Claire’s soft, feminine dress was perfect for her relaxed Cornish wedding. We adore the pretty, vintage feel, it’s just perfect for a hazy summer day. Piles of lush flowers, heaps of fun details and flowing gin! You’ll love it.

What feel were you aiming for?

“With the wedding being in Cornwall and in a garden I wanted a really relaxed feel to the day with lots of flowers. All the details were soft pastels and the main theme was that it was gin themed! We named all the tables after our favourite gins. The vases for the flowers were old gin bottles and we even had a gin bar! The gin bar was a roaring success. There wasn’t a drop left the next day!”

Claire and Piran chose classic VW camper vans as their wedding cars. They were such a big hit and guests lined up to take photos of the newlyweds. And who can blame them?

What was the best bit of the day?

“When my friend started a conga line around the marquee and the whole party got up and joined in. There wasn’t one person sitting down and the band couldn’t believe it! Also when my Dad got the whole marquee singing along as part of a song that he wrote for his Father of the Bride speech.”

Do you have any advice for brides to be?

“Take the preparsations it slow and steady. I did a little bit each month. I felt like I was making progress each step of the way but it wasn’t a great big rush. It never got too overwhelming.”

Like so many brides, Claire made sure to take 15 minutes out of the day to spend with her brand new husband. Make sure you remember to set this time aside ladies! Getting swept up in the day and not actually exchange a word with each other after the ‘I Do’ is easily done!

Claire and Piran’s wedding was coordinated to perfection on the day by Jenny Wren with help from some hugely talented suppliers. Beautiful pastel flower displays, complete with gin bottles of course, by George MacKay . Aren’t they spectacular? Everyone was fed and watered by White Raddish and not forgetting the gorgeous personalised chalkboards by Sincerely May

A big shout out to Silent Disco Newquay for making the dance floor light up…literally! The silent disco at the end of the night proved to be a roaring success. Everyone from toddlers to grandparents were hitting the dancefloor with a pair of headphones!
