LAUREN & FRANCO GRANELL | 3.11.18
Today we’re talking to Lauren, our beautiful Ellie Sanderson bride. Lauren had a warmer than usual November wedding, a jaw dropping cheese cake and an absolutely stunning dress. She looked positively radiant in Amaris by Sassi Holford, read below to be inspired by her day…
Team ES | Tell us about your proposal?
Lauren | Franco proposed to me over dinner at the OXO tower in London. I was so shocked I couldn’t eat the food and remember telling him off for not waiting until after I had eaten my main course!
Team ES | Did you pick up any tips during the planning stage?
Lauren | Try not to stress and just enjoy the process. We managed to do it all in 10 months and I felt fairly chilled the whole time – lists also work a treat!
Team ES | What was your wedding dress experience like?
Lauren | I went into 2 shops before Ellie Sanderson and the only dress I liked felt like it just wasn’t my style. Eira made me feel totally relaxed and confident in my own skin so I could properly enjoy my experience and was so patient with me… I have a tendency to be quite indecisive.
Team ES | How did you choose ‘the one’?
Lauren | I loved the dress but felt nervous about committing so I went back to Ellie Sanderson for another 2 appointments to make sure it was the perfect dress for me. I knew it was the one when I fell more in love with it every time I tried it on.
Â
Team ES | Tell us what you loved most about your dress?
Lauren | I loved the way it made me feel about my body. As a mum with a ‘mum tum’ I didn’t feel as comfortable about myself as I have in the past, but this dress made me feel confident and like I didn’t want to take it off!
Team ES | Where did you get your wedding inspiration from?
Lauren | Everywhere! Pinterest, Magazines, Instagram…
Team ES | We loved the natural, wild, florals that adorned your venue, were you following a theme?
Lauren | I didn’t have a particular theme but I wanted everything to look clean, fresh and elegant. I wanted mainly white and foliage with a hint of blush pink.
Â
Team ES | Did you walk down the aisle to a particular song?
Lauren | Yes! I walked down the aisle to ‘I cant help falling in love’ the Haley Reinhart version. I love this song.
Team ES | Did you practice your first dance or wing it:
Lauren | We completely winged it. We weren’t even sure what song we were going to have until a week before the day. I asked Franco to choose it because I felt like I had taken control of most of the decisions. We had ‘Is this love’ by Bob Marley.
Team ES | Most memorable moment of the day? The sun coming out! It was really warm for a winter day.
Lauren | We had drinks and canapes outside which is something we had never even discussed because we just assumed it would probably be cold and wet. People were walking around with no jackets on like it was a summer day.
Â
Team ES | Did you follow the something old, new, borrowed, blue tradition?
Lauren | Yes I did. Something new was my dress, My something old and borrowed was a string of my nan’s pearls which I tied round my bouquet and I asked my cousin to wear a blue dress so she was my something blue.
Team ES | Tips for brides to be, what one thing would you recommend?
Lauren | Don’t sweat the small stuff. Im sure lots of things didn’t go to plan on our day but I didn’t even notice. You are too busy enjoying yourself.
Team ES | What are you both up to now, did you go on honeymoon?
Lauren | We haven’t yet, we are planning on going to a Greek Island later on this year!
