Chloe + Andrew | 01.07.2018
Today we’re talking to Chloe, our gorgeous bohemian meets traditional Ellie Sanderson real life Bride. After a beach proposal it seemed fitting that the theme was continued. With a private beach just for the occasion my what a wedding it was! Read on to be inspired by their gorgeous day…
Team ES | Tell us about your proposal?
Chloe | I absolutely love the beach! So, when Andrew suggested taking our dog Gus to the beach for the day I very quickly said yes. When we got to one of my favourite places Sandbanks, we had a stroll along the beach which is where Andrew got down on one knee and asked me to marry him with the most beautiful ring! Andrew then suggested lunch at one of the restaurants along the beach front as a celebration, when we arrived I was over the moon to see my mum, dad, sister, and Andrews Mum and dad sat there waiting with a glass of bubbly ready! It was amazing!
Team ES | Did you pick up any tips during the planning stage?
Chloe | Don’t get stressed, everything will work out. Be organised with a good folder and listen to other people’s suggestions because they may be better than yours ha! I had the most amazing bridesmaids and Mum who helped with everything!
Team ES | What was your wedding dress experience like?
Chloe | My mum and sister took me to Ellie Sanderson on a surprise visit after I got engaged and I couldn’t have been happier as it was where my sister also found her dream dress. Straight away we were made to feel at home with a glass of bubbly and a wonder around the shop. From when we first looked around the shop to when I collected it the service was amazing and I can’t thank the girls enough for all their hard work and kindness! It fitted beautifully thanks to their amazing seamstress who gave it a few nips and tucks.
Team ES | How did you choose the ‘THE ONE’?
Chloe | I went with a dress in mind that I had seen on the Ellie Sanderson website, however when I got their every dress was beautiful and I wanted to try everything! I was very open to trying on anything which was great as I went for the complete opposite to what I thought I would. After trying on about 15 different dresses I tried on my dream dress! It was the perfect mix of boho and traditional, which I loved as we were getting married on the coast with our very own private beach.
Team ES | What did you love most about your dress?
Chloe | The detail that went into the top of my dress was incredible! Also, it had pockets which is so handy.
Team ES | Your flowers were beautiful, how did you choose as they’re quite different?
Chloe | My florist was incredible and I must say my flowers were the most beautiful florals I have ever seen. When I visited Kelly, she was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. I showed her a picture of the sort of thing I wanted along with flower crowns to match to which she straight away suggested lots of different flowers and ferns to put together to create the perfect bouquets for our beachy theme.
Team ES | Did you follow a theme for your wedding?
Chloe | I went for a tropical, beachy theme but also decided that if I liked it I went for it!
Team ES | Did you walk down the aisle to a particular song?
Chloe | Yes, somewhere over the rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole
Team ES | What about your first dance song?
Chloe | Our first dance song was “Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher” Cover by James Bay and we completely winged it which was great fun.
Team ES | Most memorable moment of the day?
Chloe | Our first dance! Loved every minute of it and we were surrounded by all of our favourite people.
Team ES | Did you follow the something old, new, borrowed, blue tradition?
Chloe | Yes! For my something old I wore my Nan’s earrings that my mum wore on her wedding day and so did my Sister. New was my dress, borrowed was my sister’s vail and for blue I had my shoes.
Team ES | Tips for brides to be, what one thing would you recommend?
Chloe | Ask for help if you need it and trust they will do just a good of a job as you!
Team ES | What are you both up to now, did you go on honeymoon?
Chloe | We’re now back to living with our beautiful dog Gus and loving life We went on the most incredible honeymoon to Vietnam after the wedding for two and a half weeks, travelling to four different parts of the country and experiencing everything we could.
Happy Wedding Planning!
