Wedding Cake Inspiration Like most women, all Ellie Sanderson girls love cake. Chocolate, Lemon, Victoria sponge, Square, Round, or in the form of cupcakes – we really don’t mind! We are lucky enough to see quite a range of cakes in our brides gorgeous wedding photos, and we don’t know how you narrow down to just one! The opportunities really are endless when you visit a mastered cake baker and designer. We have brought together a collection of some of our favourites across the web to inspire you.
It is all in the detail:
We love this spring inspired three tier cake with a stunning attention to detail. The blusher and eyelashes on the Mrs Birdie really highlight the amount of time and skill required to make this cake. Nice Icing pride themselves on creating cakes that will completely wow your guests.
Themed cakes are still very on trend:
Cakes with a theme in mind are a great way to tie in the atmosphere of your wedding, your decor, and your cake. Themed cakes are also a great opportunity to showcase your personalities, hobbies, and everything you love. Check out this fantastic beach inspired cake. Unfortunately the baker is unknown, but whoever they are, we love their work!
Did someone say NAKED CAKE?
Yes, we did, and we love it! A stripped back, ingredient-focused cake, where the cake itself is the feature, not the fondant decor or wizard airbrushing. Usually piled with fresh summer fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries, and topped with a dusting of icing sugar, the ‘naked’ cake works wonderfully on a summers day wedding. Nobody wants sticky soggy fondant on a warm August afternoon! This gorgeous cake is featured on Miss Ingredient.
The Big Cheese of all Cakes!
And not as in the New York kind! We mean real cheese! Adorned with grapes and figs, a literal cheese cake is a great savory alternative to a traditional sponge cake. Unfortunately the designer of the cake below is unknown.
