If you haven’t already seen the fabulous pictures of Ellie Sanderson taking over Blenheim Palace for a day, then check out behind the scenes of our catwalk here!  Fabulous florals, vintage chandeliers, and designer dresses were the topic of the day, all being photographed waltzing down the runway for our fabulous new video content soon to be published online here. So come back soon with your eyes peeled!
We photographed nearly 60 of our fabulous dresses so it was important that each gown was perfectly styled accordingly. In the few days before we excitedly chose birdcage veils, vintage combs, a selection of sashes and some classic jewelry- Ellie even managed to sneak a few furs in their too! The accessories started the day calmly set out on the table for all to see; there was a fantastic selection of sparkle, floral, and pearl embellishments just waiting to adorn the models.

Our stunning model Sarah (below) wears Sassi Holford’s Esme; a dropped waist gown with striking full lace sleeves and a cut out keyhole back. Unanimously we agreed that it was important the back remained visible, however looking such the English Rose we just had to use a veil to complete the look. The veil selected was by The Couture Veil Company, a single tier stitched edge veil, so sheer you didn’t miss a scallop of lace underneath. Keeping with the natural feel, we decided a Polly Edwards headpiece, Springtime, would complete this look perfectly. The ivory velvet flowers scatter softly across the hair, blending beautifully into Sarah’s up-do.

If a veil frightens the daylights out of you, do not worry! A bird cage veil is your next best option should you want to complete your outfit in a similar fashion. It’s fashionable and practical (one of our favourite combinations!)  A birdcage veil doesn’t have to be boring; you can find spotted French net, classic tulle, diamante embellished, and more! Complete your look with a dash of red lippy and a vintage comb or feather clip.)

The afternoon was our vintage party; Jenny Packham, Claire Pettibone, and Eliza Jane Howell graced the petal covered catwalk. One of our favourite looks to style, the 1920’s inspired gowns were absolutely fabulous to accessorize! Jenny Packham headpieces (in particular, Onda Headdress, below centre) and a stunning Marabou stole imitated the decadence of Hollywood in eras gone by.

Vintage Lily Bella, Polly Edwards, and Jenny Packham graced our accessory tables, whilst the Ivory&Co Monaco bracelet sold out only days later (more in soon, don’t worry!). Sassi Holford, Lily Bella, and Suzanne Neville sashes weaved their way around waists and accentuated silhouettes.
