STATEMENT SLEEVES

While 2023 was the year of the delicate illusion sleeve, 2024 is go big or go home! Oversized, statement sleeves are a massive bridal trend this year, with designers favouring fashion-forward puff sleeves (worn off the shoulder for that nonchalant, cool-bride style) and voluminous, billowing, 70’s pleated sleeves to create show-stopping looks. Detachable sleeves, seen on many of designer RISH’s boho designs, will also be very popular in 2024, allowing brides to switch up their look from ceremony to evening, without a full outfit change.

RUFFLES

Romantic ruffles are big news for 2024 brides, with many new collection gowns channelling a playful yet glamorous vibe with ruffled detail around the shoulders and neckline. It’s 80s decadence meets modern bride, and we are big fans of the style at Ellie Sanderson. Ruffled skirts, featuring waterfall layers of dreamy tulle, are also going to be a hugely popular choice this year, for brides looking for a feminine big day style.

STRAPLESS

Strapless wedding dresses are a timeless choice, but for 2024 they are going to be bigger than ever. This year, strapless gowns are given a contemporary makeover, with a focus on bold, clean lines and statement necklines. CORSETS

Corsets are back in a big way and are set to be one of the hottest wedding dress trends for 2024. While hidden, internal corsetry has been the savvy bride’s figure-flattering go-to for years, now corsets take centre stage. Creating a stunning, structured silhouette and making a super-chic fashion statement, visible corsetry ticks all the boxes in 2024. Opt for a luxe form fitting two-piece or pair a boned corset with a fluid skirt for a more relaxed take on the trend.

DROPPED WAIST DRESSES

This is the year of the drop waist wedding dress, with bridal designers creating updated versions of the 1920s classic. BIG VEILS
